Up and coming Sydney alternative rock five piece, SOUND OF SEASONS, have released their explosive second single, Sweet Decline, following up to last year’s debut, All Over Me.
Beginning with a catchy repetitive riff, that instantly puts me in a vivid magical scene like something from ‘Alice In Wonderland’. It continues in bringing in the band, and vocals. The vocalist, Marcus Bridge, demonstrates a diverse vocal range, which sounds similar to some other soprano male vocalists like Vic Fuentes of PIERCE THE VEIL. I personally prefer Marcus’ lower range compared to his higher, seeming as it sounds more clear and dictated. While the executions of the other instruments are done perfectly and their overall sound has been well thought of, an impressive talent from a band that only formed in 2010.
It would have been nice, if they had included a bonus track or acoustic track with the single. Overall it’s a great follow up to their already great debut. SOUND OF SEASONS seem to be mapping out a prosperous career ahead. With their infectious catchy sound, I’m eager to hear a debut album some time and might even catch a show next time they’re in town.
