Rockin' With... Storm The Sky

Storm The Sky; a six piece metalcore band from Melbourne, Australia who made a quick entrance onto the scene with their debut single, Giants, around 6 months ago.  Since then the six young boys have played all around the country, played alongside big wigs like House vs. Hurricane and released their debut EP and just about to hit with their follow up. These guys have it all worked out, but I wanted to find out a little bit more about what’s to come.

For someone who has never heard of you, how would you describe Storm The Sky?
We're a band that combines a lot of heavy aspects with catchy melodic riffs and vocals.

How did the band form? What is the meaning behind the band name?
Our drummer, Alex, suggested it, and we felt it had a positive feel.
The band was formed with the core of Alex, Billy and Andy, who all attended school together. Daniel, Will and Kristian were found through various outlets.

You guys are currently in the studio recording your new EP; can you tell us how that’s going so far?
So far it's going really well. We're really proud of the songs we've written, and can't wait to show the fans what we've accomplished with our hard work.

What could we expect from the new EP compared to your previous self –titled debut EP?
The sound has matured a lot. The structures of the songs are much better written, and we've found a great balance of heavy elements combined with more catchy riffs.

Any release dates/titles/covers yet?
We don't have a release date as of yet. We're keeping everything really low key for now.

I do understand that you’re unsigned, are you looking at getting signed? Or is the need for being signed not as demanding?
We can't say much at the moment. ;)

Who would you sight as your musical influences? And what bands are you personally enjoying currently?
Katy Perry, the Biebs, NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, Five, Hanson, One Direction

You’ve played many shows before this including being a part of Loud Fest. Have you had a favourite show to date? Why was it so memorable?
Loud Fest was crazy! We also loved Sounds Loud Festival. Those 2 have probably been the most insane for us.
Also any time we can go interstate, and see people so far away that know our music, it's just overwhelming!

Any interesting or funny tour stories so far?
All of our stories are more 'had to be there' moments.

How would you describe your live show in 3 words?
Energetic, raw and passionate.

Is there a plan to embark on a national tour with the release of the new EP? What could we expect there?
We're definitely planning on touring with this EP. We really want to hit up a lot of places we've never played before.

What’s one thing myself and the readers might not know about Storm The Sky?
Andy is actually Batman... shhhhh.

So what’s next? What are your plans for the next 6 months?
We plan on being on the road for most of the year.

Where would you like to see this band in 3 years?
Touring overseas would be amazing.

Any finishing words?
DICK AND BALLS!
